What makes STS First Aid Different from other First aid companies?
STS act as your First Aid department. We can do all the admin, all the training, produce the certificates and will even remind you when your staff, and which of your staff need to requalify. This takes out the hassle of trying to remember who needs to book and when. We can also give impartial and down to earth advice on your first aid supplies.

Not only are we experienced and professional when dealing with every client, but we also have the confidence to deliver excellent training. This diversity sets us apart from others. We train the largest companies with over 10,000 employess, to the small businesses with only 1 employee. All of our trainers and courses are designed to suit the specific student on the course.

With over 25 years training First Aid, our friendly and professional approach ensures that we remain at the forefront of First Aid training.

Where abouts do STS train?
STS have offices in Canary Wharf, London and in Enfield, Middlesex. The majority of our training takes place in Canary Wharf, or North London.

We do have the flexibilty to run course on your premises anywhere in the South East of England. Give us a call and let us know where you are.

Do the courses comply with HSE regulations?
All our courses are fully approved by the HSE. We have had a long standing and good relationship with the HSE by providing expert tuition to First Aiders.

What is First Aid?
Promote Recovery
Preserve Life
Prevent Further Injury

Is First aid for babies and children covered in the normal course?
We offer specialised courses for parents and child carers in First aid. These courses give those dealing with children the confidence to deal with common ailments and accidents that may occur.

Can legal action be taken against First Aiders?
It is very unlikely that any action would be taken against a First Aider who was using the First Aid training they have received. HSE cannot give any specific advice on this issue as it has no expertise in this area and it does not fall within HSE’s statutory powers.
It is recommended that you seek legal advice, or advice from your employer’s insurance brokers on whether their policies cover first aiders’ liability.

The thing to remember is:
Only do what you have been trained to do.

What should a First aid box in the workplace contain?
There isn't a mandatory list of contents for first aid boxes. Deciding what to include should be based on the employer’s assessment of first aid needs. Equivalent but different items will be considered acceptable. Any items in the first aid box that have passed their expiry date should be disposed of safely.
In general, tablets and medication should not be kept in the First Aid box.

Are appointed persons required to take an approved training course in first aid?
There are no legal requirements for appointed persons to have any approved training in order to carry out their responsibilities. However, there are courses available for appointed persons to give you the skills neccessary to give the best possible First Aid.

How long does the certificate last for?
The First Aid at Work certificate lasts for 3 years. Once you have completed a course with us, we will contact you to remind you when you are due to renew your qualification. This takes out all the problems with remembering when to book, and who needs to renew.
